Nuri Ozer (8A) is Los Angeles Regional Champion for National History Bee Competition!

Nuri competed on Monday, March 3rd in the National History Bee’s LA Regional Championship, hosted at Harbor Day in Newport. This was the second stage of the National History Bee and he did a fascinating job! Not only did he qualify for the finals, but he also did become the Champion for LA Regional Championship!

Students participated in several rounds of verbally answering questions with a buzzer system. The top students from each of the Regional Finals advance to the National Finals in Atlanta, GA. They will compete against more than 400 students from all over the US. The winner of the Nationals may receive 1,000 $ cash prize and a Kindle.
Congrats to Nuri and his coach Mr. Cakir!
Good luck at the Finals in Atlanta in June!

Medieval Times Field Trip

Our 7th graders went to the traditional Medieval Times Field Trip on February 21st, Fri. with their Social Studies teacher Mr. Cakir. They had lots of fun and learned about chivalry, rivalry and revelry at the same time!

During this educational and fun trip, they watched live jousting tournament of the knights, marveled at awe-inspiring horsemanship and falconry and had a four-course meal fit for royalty!
